Can you please post the basket weave technique? I like the picture of the basket cake with flowers. I am thinking of making a basket with a puppy in it or fruits. Thank you.

When I try to move fondant decorations, they stretch out of shape. Should I be making the fondant for decoration stiffer than that for covering the cake?
Love this site

Hi Charlie53, I am not sure what type of fondant you are using or how you are applying or ‘gluing’ your decorations. Here is my advise:
1) Roll your fondant decorations thicker than usual and allow to dry a little bit before you apply to cake.
2) Don’t use water to glue fondant decorations to a cake as water melts the fondant. Instead use the flavorings which contains alcohol, as alcohol is more volatile and will dry faster than water. You can also use vodka.
3)If you are using marshmallow fondant (MMF), you might want to switch to Wilton Fondant as this is less stretchy. I have used the MMF recipe in this website for bows and decorations and they work just fine, however, there might be higher humidity or heat where you live and thus affecting your end results. Try working on a cooled room.
Let me know if this helps.
